PackChange ANZ does not replace PREP. It looks more broadly at what a proposed packaging change may affect—including product safety, pack performance, processing, logistics, labelling, GTINs, claims, evidence and approvals—and flags when a formal PREP, GS1, regulatory or specialist determination may be needed.

Before you start.
Is PackChange ANZ free?
Yes. The current PackChange ANZ screening tool is free to use and does not require an account. If optional paid services or workflow features are introduced later, they will be separate and clearly described.
What products and packaging can it assess?
The tool covers primary, secondary and tertiary packaging across common rigid, flexible, fibre, glass, metal and multi-material formats. Food and beverage receive the deepest regulatory screening in this release. Other FMCG categories receive general packaging guidance and specialist escalation where needed.
Does it replace PREP or the Australasian Recycling Label process?
No. PREP performs a specific recyclability assessment and supports ARL decisions. PackChange ANZ provides a broader change-impact screen and may direct you to PREP where a formal recovery-system assessment is relevant.
Does the report certify that my pack is compliant?
No. It identifies potential impacts, actions and evidence needs from the information you provide. Final decisions must use the current requirements, the actual commercial pack, applicable scheme rules and competent review.
What happens to the information I enter?
Your assessment answers are processed in your browser. They are not uploaded to Circular Blueprint or saved by the tool. Do not enter confidential formulations, supplier pricing or proprietary specifications. The website host may still process ordinary technical request data such as IP address and browser information.
Can I save or share the result?
Yes. Use “Print or save PDF” in the report and choose your browser’s PDF option. Review the report before sharing it because it reflects the information and assumptions entered at the time.
How current is the regulatory information?
Every report displays the rule-library version and review date and links to the relevant official sources. Requirements, guidance and scheme rules change, so open the current source at the point of decision.
Who should use the report internally?
That depends on the change. The tool can suggest functions such as packaging, quality, regulatory, product development, operations, procurement, artwork, master data and supply chain. Your organisation’s own authority matrix determines who must approve.
